National Spinal Health Week
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—I acknowledge National Spinal Health Week, held from 26 May to 1 June 2025, an important campaign led by the Australian Chiropractors Association to raise awareness about spinal health and its vital role in overall wellbeing. In Maitland, this message is especially relevant. Local healthcare professionals, including chiropractors, physiotherapists, and allied health providers, play a vital role in supporting our community's spinal health. They offer essential services to help prevent and manage conditions like back and neck pain, which affect many residents, particularly with the increasing impact of "tech neck" from extended screen use. Spinal pain significantly impacts quality of life and daily activities for many in Maitland. I commend these local health practitioners for their ongoing commitment to promoting good posture, ergonomic workspaces, regular movement, and other preventive strategies. I encourage all Maitland residents to use National Spinal Health Week as an opportunity to learn more, seek professional advice, and adopt habits that protect spinal wellbeing. Together, we can foster a healthier community, free from preventable spinal problems.
