Monique Krake
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—Congratulation to Monique Krake from Thornton, whose incredible summer of cricket has seen her shine on the national stage. Monique was a late call-up to represent Country NSW at the Under-16 Girls National Cricket Championships in Tasmania, and she made the most of her opportunity—taking eight wickets at an impressive average of 14.74, including standout figures of 4-17 against Queensland. Her performance helped Country NSW to a strong third-place finish behind NSW Metro and Victoria. This milestone caps off a breakout season for Monique, who has represented the Hunter Combined High Schools, the Greater Hunter Coast in the Under‑18 Brewer Shield, and will now line up for the Combined High Schools 2nd XI at the NSW All-School Championships in Maitland. Monique is a pace bowler with composure beyond her years—adjusting her bowling to outthink opposition batters and showing she belongs among the state's best young talent. Off the field, Monique is humble and a role model to younger players in the region. With her father and sister as teammates at Thornton, Monique's story is a testament to talent, hard work, and family support. Well done Monique.
