Isabella Crebert

Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport) (20:32): I congratulate the inaugural winner of the International Women's Day Loretta Baker Scholarship, Isabella Crebert. Named after Maitland's first female mayor, the $1,000 scholarship supports local women in achieving their professional and academic goals. Isabella, a University of Newcastle PhD candidate, will use the scholarship to further her forensic anthropology research overseas. She will present her findings at the European Academy of Forensic Sciences in Dublin in May. Isabella's PhD looks into how 3D technology can be used to better identify deceased people, particularly when they are skeletonised. From Dublin, Ms Crebert will test some of her results at the University of Zurich, and then continue on to Lazaretto off Venice in Italy to identify people. Isabella hopes her research will help to identify people's loved ones in Australia and around the world. Again, I congratulate Isabella.
