Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland) (17:45): On this Wear Orange Wednesday, I congratulate the SES Maitland Unit at Rutherford and the SES Hunter headquarters, which is located in my electorate at Metford, for their ongoing and continuous support of our communities through floods, storms and all sorts of other emergencies. I first came into contact with my local SES unit just after I got elected during the April 2015 super storms. The professionalism of those volunteers, their dedication and the help they provide to communities is something that Maitland has needed. It is a flood-prone area. In fact, the SES started in Maitland after the 1955 floods, so we have a strong connection to the SES. I recognise them on this very special day and thank them for their contribution to our community and their ongoing help and support.
