Angie Ussher
Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland—Minister for Roads, and Minister for Regional Transport)—Congratulations to 2025 Maitland Local Woman of the Year finalist, Angie Ussher. Angie is a local mum, musician, performing arts teacher, mentor, and a dedicated volunteer for community groups. Her passion for the performing arts has earned her widespread recognition, including being the recipient of the 2023 Maitland Australia Day Performing Arts Award and a previous nominee for Citizen of the Year. Angie's commitment to our community is unwavering. Despite undergoing brain surgery last year, she has continued to make the performing arts accessible to all. She founded VTP Presents, an inclusive production company, to ensure that everyone can participate in and enjoy the arts. This year, Angie started two community choirs, 'Valley Tone Pipes' and 'Valley Tone Pipettes,' offering people of all ages the chance to sing, and connect in a supportive and welcoming environment, all at no cost. After just one term, the choirs performed for local charity, We Care Connect. Currently, Angie is working on a children's musical in Morpeth, specifically designed to include children of all abilities. Angie's dedication, compassion, and drive to make a positive impact are truly inspiring. She embodies the values of excellence, integrity, and community spirit in everything she does.
