COVID-19 UPDATE 13 OCTOBER 2021

In the 24-hour reporting period to 8pm last night:

  • 444 new locally acquired cases

  • 2 new overseas acquired cases

  • 446 new total cases

  • 716 people in hospital

  • 150 people in ICU

  • 4 deaths

  • 90.8% of people aged 16+ have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

  • 75.2% of people aged 16+ have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine

  • 105,508 tests in the last 24 hours


As part of todays new case total HNE Health have confirmed 78 for the Hunter New England Health area.

The 78 new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 1,892 in the Hunter New England Health area.

  • 19 of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital. 4 are currently in ICU.

  • 54 are linked, 20 are unlinked, and 4 are still under investigation.

  • 38 were infectious in the community. 36 were isolating while infectious. 4 are still under investigation.
