COVID-19 UPDATE 10 SEPTEMBER 2021

  • There were 1,542 new local cases in NSW.

  • 1,156 in hospital.

  • 207 in intensive care.


The Statewide vaccination rates confirmed by NSW Health are:

  • 76.4% first dose

  • 43.6% second dose (fully vaccinated)

HNE Health have confirmed 13 new cases COVID-19 for the New England Health Area.


The 13 new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 275. There are currently 138 active cases.


8 are from Port Stephens LGA 1 in Anna Bay Infectious status under investigation Unlinked. Investigations ongoing 2 in Fingal Bay Were isolating while infectious Linked to a positive family member 1 in Fern Bay Infectious in community Linked to a visitor from Sydney 1 in Heatherbrae Was isolating while infectious Linked to Motto Farm 1 in Nelson Bay Infectious in community Linked to a positive family member 1 in Shoal Bay Was isolating while infectious Linked to a household contact 1 in Soldiers Point Infectious in community Unlinked. Investigation ongoing 4 are from Lake Macquarie LGA 3 in Wyee Point Were infectious in community Linked to household contact 1 in Murrays Beach Infectious status unknown Unlinked.   • 10 of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital. 0 are in ICU.

  • 8 of the cases are linked. 7 were infectious in the community, with 2 under investigation.

  • 485 close contacts are in isolation.
