Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—Congratulations and well done to the organisers and all participants in this years' Artastique Art Exhibition and Festival, which was held in Maitland's High Street earlier this year. For the week-long festival, shop windows were enriched with art work in a variety of styles and media by local and regional artists. This collaboration between shop owners and artists has benefitted the local community through greater exposure for their artists, and increased promotion of Central Maitland and The Levee.

Started in 2019 by Frank Winnips, Patricia van Lubeck and Andrew Bennett, the concept is borrowed from a similar festival in Frank and Patricia's homeland of the Netherlands. This second annual event saw an increase in the number of participants from 45 shops to 60 shops, and attracted more than 120 applications from artists wanting to be involved. At a time when retailers, creative artists and other small businesses have been struggling with COVID-19, it was heartening to see so many of them working together to bring beauty and positivity to lift the spirits of our communities. I know their beautiful displays created a wonderful landscape for people to walk through during the period of isolation.

Congratulations and bravo to everyone!
