Ms JENNY AITCHISON (Maitland)—It was lovely to meet with President of the NSW Farmers, James Jackson and Kathy Rankin today on the eve of National Ag Day.

This is an important opportunity to celebrate agriculture across NSW, particularly after the difficult years of drought, bushfires, floods, trade disruptions and COVID-19. But it is important to remember not just the resilience of the agriculture sector which pumps $16 billion into our economy each year in NSW, but COVID reminds us of the need to have a thriving agriculture industry in an international world.

I hope that everyone will take the time to remember the hard work of our farmers and their families across the state, and ensure whenever they go to the supermarket, green grocers, or buy some clothes, that they remember to choose the fibre and food produced by some of the world's best!

Thank you farmers!
