AGED CARE AND HOSPITAL VISITOR CHANGES
AGED CARE AND HOSPITAL VISITOR CHANGES as at 12 October, 2021
HNE Health have confirmed that visitors are welcome at aged care facilities and in hospitals, in line with relevant guidance as outlined below.
Patients may receive a maximum of two visitors, each day. Visitors must:
Be at least 12 years of age.
Have had two doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine.
Provide evidence of their vaccination status when they enter the facility.
Wear a surgical mask correctly on entry at the facility, and for the duration of the visit.
Given the number of cases in the HNE Health district, and in the light of recent exposures in maternity wards, HNE Health are exercising the utmost level of caution and restricting visitors to one person/per day for the time being. This will be reviewed as vaccination levels continue to increase.
In circumstances where a visitor is not vaccinated or is partially vaccinated, exemptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
People must not visit under any circumstances if they:
Have been to case locations in NSW, interstate affected areas or New Zealand in the last 14 days.
Have COVID-19 symptoms.
Are a close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19 and are within their isolation period.
Live in a household with a person who is currently isolating.
Are waiting for a COVID-19 test result.
