This morning the Premier announced the roadmap for the return to school for students.
The roadmap looks like this:
HSC Exams will be pushed back to 9 November.
If stay-at-home orders are lifted in an LGA or region before 25 October, all students living or learning in that area will return to face to face learning under the Department’s COVID-safe schools framework.
If we remain in lockdown, then students will begin a staggered return to school from October 25 or whenever we are out of lockdown.
The plan announced today is:
From October 25, Kindergarten and Year 1 will return to face-to-face learning.
From November 1, Year 2, Year 6 and Year 11 will return to face-to-face learning.
From November 8, all other years will return to face-to-face learning.
Year 12 students are already able to return in a limited way and this will continue for the remainder of Term 3.
From 25 October, Year 12 will have full time access to school campuses and their teachers.
Double doses of COVID vaccinations will be mandatory for any staff on school sites from 25 October and for all school staff from 8 November.
NSW Health will provide priority vaccinations for all staff across the State. Details will be provided (please note I continue to advocate for more vaccines for teachers and other frontline workers in our community).
There will be no visitors on school grounds and procedures will be in place to reduce mingling of students.
