MEDIA RELEASE - Commercial fishing still in chaos after four years of government intervention
The Labor Opposition has condemned the Minister for Primary Industries for continuing delays in providing certainty for commercial fishers, after the NSW Government’s disastrous Business Adjustment Program (BAP) reforms were implemented in May 2016.
Nearly four years after the start of the BAP, commercial fishers across the industry may still potentially lose more of their catch quota.

MEDIA RELEASE: Berejiklian failing farmers on drought assistance
The NSW Labor Opposition has slammed the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government for reducing the amount of funding given to farmers while 98.5 per cent of the state is still in drought.
NSW Budget Estimates hearings today revealed that approvals for the Farm Innovation Fund (7 year loans of up to $1 million with a two year interest and repayment free period) have effectively halved from $321 million in the twelve months from 2018/19 to only $69 million (2019/20 YTD).

Labor has called for an extension to special disaster loans and application assistance for fire-affected farmers, after the Berejiklian Liberals and Nationals revealed only 11 farmers across NSW have applied for a special disaster loan.
Speaking before a Budget Estimates hearing today, Nationals Minister Adam Marshall estimated that 10,000 NSW farmers have had their properties, crops and livestock damaged by fires, but confirmed that only 11 farmers have applied.
